Football General Manager
- The Argentine had been training separately
- De Paul is under contract with the club through 2029
- He will wear the No. 7 shirt
Inter Miami are clear to break-in their newest signing starting Wednesday, as Rodrigo De Paul has received his work visa and is now eligible to play, the club confirmed.
He could make his debut against Atlas in the Leagues Cup.
De Paul was officially unveiled by The Herons over the weekend, but he hadn’t been able to join Javier Mascherano’s training sessions until his paperwork was finalized. His work documents arrived Wednesday, just hours before the match against the Mexican side, meaning the former Atlético de Madrid player could see some minutes.
De Paul will wear the No. 7 jersey with Inter Miami. The Argentine becomes the third World Cup champion from Qatar 2022 to play in MLS, following Lionel Messi and Thiago Almada.
In addition to Atlas, Mascherano’s team will also face Necaxa and Pumas in Leagues Cup, the latter having recently signed Aaron Ramsey and Keylor Navas.
