Dele’s adventure at Como has not gone as hoped, and now the two parties could already be parting ways. According to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport the English midfielder is no longer part of Fabregas’ plans. He has been banished from the squad and has been training alone ahead of the start of next season.

The former talent was coming off a series of physical problems and other issues that had already heavily affected his career. Despite his history, Como decided to offer him a chance in January, offering an 18-month contract with an option to buy this summer. In early March, he was finally called up by Fabregas to the squad, coming on in the final minutes of the clash against , with Como trailing 2-1. However, his return to football at San Siro lasted just nine minutes, which was enough time to earn himself a straight red card from VAR following a very hard tackle on his compatriot Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

The pleas of his friend and then-Milan full-back Kyle Walker, who asked the referee not to show Alli the marching orders, were in vain. From that moment on, Alli, who was suspended for one match, would not set foot on the pitch again. Fabregas left him on the bench for the last few league games, partly due to new physical problems.

Alli is now effectively out of the project ahead of the new season, so much so that the Englishman is training separately along with the other surplus players. Como, on the other hand, have decided to focus on young players and have several top-level alternatives in the role.

Alli’s contract with Como expires on June 30, 2026, but it looks increasingly likely that he will not remain under the former midfielder’s orders for another year. He has been working hard in pre-season, with speculation suggesting that the 29-year-old has been offered to Brazilian outfit .
