- Bayern hopeful of signing Diaz
- Expecting Liverpool to soften their stance
- Diaz wants to join the German champions
The Reds are on a spending spree in the summer transfer window as they have already welcomed five new players to their squad and Ekitike’s imminent arrival makes the count six. After shelling out massive amounts on new signings, the Reds are expected to offload some of their existing players and according to Kicker journalist Frank Linkesch, Bayern are hoping that Liverpool will now soften their stance on selling Diaz.
Bayern have already seen their initial bid worth €67.5 million (£59m/$79m) rejected by Liverpool, but they remain optimistic of signing the Colombian winger, who is also keen on exiting Anfield and moving to the German champions, according to ESPN.
Vincent Kompany wants to build a solid attacking force around star forward Harry Kane and thus signing of Diaz this summer is of great importance for the Bavarian club. Leroy Sane departed earlier in the window to join Galatasaray.
Kompany’s men will play their first pre-season friendly on August 2 against Lyon before facing Tottenham Hotspur in the Telekom Cup five days later.
