Football General Manager
- Swedish striker has signed for the Gunners
- Joined them on pre-season tour of Asia
- Has been handed iconic No.14 shirt
The Gunners are in the Far East as part of their pre-season tour. Premier League rivals from St James’ Park are being faced in Singapore. A new face entered the dressing room for that encounter.
Gyokeres is not yet ready to make his debut for Arsenal, having flown out to Asia on the back of sealing a £64 million ($86m) transfer from Sporting, but he is raring to get going and embark on a new adventure.n
The 27-year-old frontman was dropped off at the Singapore National Stadium in a luxury Toyota Alphard van. He was all smiles when stepping out of that vehicle, with Gyokeres now officially a Gooner.
He has been handed the iconic No.14 shirt in north London that was once worn by Arsenal’s all-time leading goalscorer Thierry Henry. He has been getting an early feel for that jersey, which he hopes will deliver a similar level of success.
Mikel Arteta’s side are set to take in a derby date with arch-rivals Tottenham on Thursday before returning to the UK. Gyokeres will see friendly minutes before the 2025-26 Premier League campaign opens away at Manchester United on August 17.
