- Pep booed at Oasis concert at Heaton Park
- Gallagher dedicated a song to the City boss
- Called Pep 'the greatest'
Liam Gallagher dedicated Oasis’ ‘D’You Know What I Mean?’ to Guardiola, who attended their reunion gig at Heaton Park in Manchester. Right before the band performed the song, the lead vocalist announced: “I want to dedicate this next tune to the greatest manager of all time, the one and only Pep Guardiola.” Gallagher then bowed down to show his respect for the Catalan – however, a section of the fans booed the City boss. Noel Gallagher was quick to respond to the jeering as he said: “Who you f*cking booing?”
Guardiola seemed to have a magical night in his adopted hometown on a Friday night as 80,000 people attended the homecoming show, which ended with a massive fireworks display. The Catalan even sang along to ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’ with the band from the crowd.
The dethroned English champions are set to face sister club Palermo in a pre-season friendly on August 9 to compete for the first-ever Anglo-Palermitan Trophy.
