- Dele to leave كومو just six months after joining
- Former Spurs star made only one appearance in إيطاليا
- No plans to retire despite career setbacks and injuries
Dele signed an 18-month deal with Como in January after leaving إيفرتون, but is now expected to depart with a year left on his contract as per The Athletic. His only appearance for I Lariani came in March against ميلان, where he was sent off 10 minutes after coming on. He hasn’t featured in any of Como’s pre-season matches.
Dele’s career has stalled since his peak years at توتنهام, as he has had short stints at Everton and بشيكتاش, struggling with form, fitness, and injuries. Despite his recent setbacks and certain reports hinting towards the 29-year-old potentially retiring, the midfielder is determined to continue playing.
Once considered one of إنجلترا‘s brightest talents, Dele won the PFA Young Player of the Year twice. He was a key figure in Spurs’ 2016-17 الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز title charge and their 2019 دوري أبطال أوروبا final run. In 2023, he revealed personal struggles with mental health and addiction in a candid interview with Gary Neville, which offered insight into the difficulties he has had to endure throughout his life.
The 29-year-old will now search for a new club as he continues his comeback. Dele is not considering retirement and remains focused on reviving his career. The midfielder will likely weigh offers before deciding his next step.
