The Portuguese giants have signed Luis Suarez to succeed Gyokeres, with the Colombian striker earning high praise from team-mate Pedro Goncalves. In six games for the club since his arrival, Suarez has been directly involved in as many goals.

After a drawn out and controversial transfer drama surrounding Gyokeres’ eventual departure to , Sporting sealed the signing of Suarez from Spanish side in a fee worth €25 million (£22m/$29m). Head coach Rui Borges was confident that Suarez “will leave his mark on Sporting.” Those words are beginning to come true.
