- Forward moved to فرنسا in 2024
- Won Golden Boot in debut campaign
- Transfer speculation fended off
The former Manchester متحد forward generated plenty of transfer speculation early in the summer window. Admiring glances were shot in his direction after registering 21 الدوري الفرنسي 1 goals during his debut campaign in France.
That return was enough to earn him a share of the Golden Boot alongside باريس سان جيرمان‘s Ballon d’Or contender Ousmane Dembele. Greenwood is now up and running in the new campaign.
The 23-year-old held his nerve to convert from the penalty spot in a meeting with نادي باريس لكرة القدم. Said effort opened the scoring for مرسيليا, as they swept their way to a comfortable 5-2 victory over top-flight newcomers.
Greenwood has become a fan favourite in Marseille, with those in the stands being given plenty to cheer. He posted on social media after getting supporters off their seats once more: “Scoring at the Velodrome never gets old, Big win, big team effort!”
Marseille will be returning to دوري أبطال أوروبا action this season, with Greenwood having a big role to play there. He has been linked with teams across Europe – including يوفنتوس و أتلتيكو مدريد – but appears set to stay put on a contract through to 2029.
