- Comolli confirms Vlahovic is “99%” at Juve
- No serious bids arrived despite ميلان‘s interest
- Juve shift transfer focus to other positions before deadline
يوفنتوس general manager Damien Comolli has declared that striker Vlahovic is “99%” certain to remain at the club, ending months of speculation surrounding his future. The Serbian international, who is in the final year of his contract, had been linked with a move away from Turin, but a lack of concrete offers means he is now set to stay.
Juventus had been open to selling Vlahovic to avoid losing him on a free transfer next summer and to remove his significant wages from their books. Despite reported interest from clubs including AC Milan, no formal bids have been made. Comolli has admitted that the failure to sell the 25-year-old “changes the outlook” of their transfer strategy in the final days of the window, as the club already possesses two top strikers in Vlahovic and Jonathan David.
Speaking on Vlahovic’s condition, Comolli said: “Vlahovic staying changes the outlook, because we already have two great number nines, him and Jonathan David. There are other positions we can focus on; we’ll see what happens between now and Monday.”
He added: “There’s no friction, he’s part of the club and 99% of the time he’ll stay. There have been discussions, but nothing serious. I think that’s another story. We’re fortunate to have a solid ownership behind us. There are Financial Fair Play restrictions until 2027, and that needs to be taken into account. We want to abide by the rules. We’ll let you know as soon as there’s news.”
With Vlahovic’s future seemingly secure, Juventus will now pivot their focus to strengthening other areas of the squad before the transfer window closes. Comolli confirmed the club is “active in the transfer market” and “working on multiple fronts” while adhering to Financial Fair Play restrictions. The club has already sanctioned the departure of youngster Savona to نوتنغهام فورست as they look to finalise their business for the summer. In الدوري الإيطالي, Juve will now take on جنوة on Sunday after beating Parma in the season opener.
