- Sancho has agreed terms with Juventus
- Move depends on Nico Gonzalez’ exit
- Atalanta and Inter interested in Gonzalez
According to Calciomercato Sancho’s transfer to Juventus has hit a wall. While the player has already agreed personal terms and is eager to join, the Bianconeri cannot complete the move until they offload Nico Gonzalez. The Argentine winger isn’t part of coach Igor Tudor’s plans and is seen as the key to unlocking Sancho’s arrival.
Juventus signed Gonzalez just last summer for nearly €30 million (£26m/$33m), but after a disappointing season in which he scored five goals and provided four assists in 38 appearances, he’s no longer viewed as a core player. Financially and tactically, Juve need to sell before they can buy. Multiple clubs have shown interest, but no deal is close yet stalling progress on Sancho.
“[Sancho] could become a target if a winger leaves. We currently have two of the best in the world Francisco Conceicao and Kenan Yilidz, as well as Nico Gonzalez, who is a great player,”u0026nbsp;said Juventus general manager Damien Comolli when asked about Sancho, clearly hinting that offloading a player specifically Gonzalez is the prerequisite for any deal for the Englishman.
Atalanta may revive their interest in Gonzalez, especially if Ademola Lookman joins Inter, a club also considering Gonzalez as a fallback option. Al-Ahli remain in the mix but haven’t convinced the player. Until a suitable offer arrives, Sancho’s future remains on hold.
