According to Beinsports.tr Gundogan has agreed to join Turkish champions Galatasaray and will earn a salary of up to €6m (£5m/$6.9m) per season. It has even been claimed that planning for the midfielder’s formal presentation is already underway.

Gundogan’s agent, however, was taken aback by the transfer rumours as he refuted claims that the player will exit Etihad Stadium this summer. Gundogan returned to City last from last year and appeared in 54 matches across all competitions in the 2024-25 campaign.

Speaking to reporters, the City star’s agent and uncle Ilhan Gundogan said: “At the moment, there is no agreement with any club in Turkey or any official talks going on. I find it difficult to understand why such news is coming out.”

Gundogan’s existing contract runs until 2026 and as it stands, the 34-year-old is scheduled to report back to City training for pre-season next month. The Cityzens will play a friendly against sister club Palermo on August 9.
