- ليدز clinch £18m deal for Okafor
- Calvert-Lewin and Nmecha already signed
- Farke building new strike force
Okafor spent the latter half of last season on loan at Napoli, where he helped the club secure their الدوري الإيطالي crown. While his role was limited, featuring just four times for the Italian giants, his pedigree was never in question. Now, according to Gianluca Di Marzio,Leeds have agreed a deal with Milan for a permanent transfer for Okafor after having already finalised personal terms with the player.
Okafor had also attracted interest from بولونيا, who were deep in negotiations with Milan earlier this summer. But the Serie A side couldn’t meet the financial demands, opening the door for Leeds to swoop in and secure the deal.
Leeds have already snapped up Calvert-Lewin, who walked away from إيفرتون as free agent in June, and ex-مانشستر سيتي striker Nmecha, also secured without a fee following his فولفسبورغ exit. With Okafor’s versatility to play across the front line, Calvert-Lewin’s proven الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز record, and Nmecha’s hunger to rebuild his career in إنجلترا, Leeds suddenly look transformed.
It remains to be seen if Okafor can slot into the Leeds squad in time for a blockbuster clash at أرسنال on August 23. If not, his debut could come a week later at home against Newcastle.
