- Chiesa left out of ليفربول‘s UCL squad
- European side interested in winger
- Reds not entertaining departure
Liverpool named their 22-man squad for the league phase of the دوري أبطال أوروبا last week – and Chiesa was not in it. Subsequently, the Turkish side have enquired about a loan deal for the Italian but Fabrizio Romano claims the ex-يوفنتوس man is going nowhere.
He said on his YouTube channel, “بشيكتاش, in the last 24 to 48 hours, tried to call for Federico Chiesa to understand the situation at Liverpool. What I can tell you is that Liverpool are not letting Federico go on loan. At the moment, negotiations are not advanced. It’s not something really concrete or advanced, but they made a call also for Federico Chiesa.”
Despite scoring in Liverpool’s win over بورنموث and coming off the bench against Newcastle متحد in their opening الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز games of the season, Chiesa did not make the cut for Arne Slot’s Champions League squad. He was repeatedly linked with an Anfield exit this summer but stayed put ahead of the 2026 كأس العالم. Omissions like this may mean that was the wrong decision.
The 27-year-old will hope he can get some more Liverpool game time, and eventually win over Slot, when they travel to بيرنلي in the Premier League on Sunday. Incidentally, the Turkish transfer window shuts on September 12, so Besiktas still have time to sign a new winger.
