According to a report from Mein Bezirk the Austrian club have made a surprise move to sign icon. The legend has received an approach from the Vienna-based side, who are reportedly prepared to offer a higher salary than clubs, with some Austrian sources claiming Rapid could table a deal worth up to €3 million per year. Muller is said to have been offered €1.7m annually by MLS suitors.

Muller, 35, has yet to confirm his future beyond Bayern, where he has spent his entire professional career. The attacker’s contract expires at the end of the month, and he will be available for a free transfer after that.
