Tottenham sent scouts to watch Monaco play Auxerre in Ligue 1 this weekend, as they continue to run the rule over attacking midfielder Maghnes Akliouche. The club were linked with a summer swoop to sign the 23-year-old and appear to be keeping a watching brief on the young forward. During the summer, Spurs signed Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig.

Per TBR Football, Spurs sent scouts to watch and were interested in the progress of Akliouche specifically, along with Vanderson and Lamine Camara. Akliouche was linked with a summer move to north London but the club signed Xavi Simons from instead.

Manager Thomas Frank appears to maintain an interest in the versatile young ace, who can play on either flank, in the 10 or up front. He has enjoyed a sterling start to the season, scoring two goals in four games.

While Akliouche would be a headline signing, Spurs are also monitoring Vanderson as potential full-back depth, with Pedro Porro, Djed Spence, and Destiny Udogie currently the specialist full-backs in the squad; Archie Gray has also covered at right-back but is naturally a midfielder. Camara, meanwhile, operates primarily as a midfielder.
