- Coady signs for undisclosed fee
- 32-year-old adds top-flight experience
- Wrexham swooped to complete signing ahead of Rangers
Wrexham have made a major statement with the signing of Coady, who has vast الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز experience and has previously been part of two Championship title-winning squads. The 32-year-old has departed Leicester City for the Red Dragons, though the fee is currently undisclosed.
The football world has watched with keen interest at the moves Wrexham have made in the transfer market this summer. After a slow start, their business has picked up with signings including Lewis O’Brien and Liberato Cacace, while a huge £7.5 million ($10m) bid has reportedly been accepted for Ipswich Town’s Wales international forward Nathan Broadhead.
Coady arrives as a former Premier League captain at Wolves with 198 top-flight appearances and 10 England caps under his belt. Wrexham have beaten Scottish giants Rangers to his signature, which shows major ambition as they look to make an impact on the Championship.
Coady told the Wrexham club website: “I’m over the moon. It’s a special day, I’ll be honest.u0026nbsp;
“We’ve all seen what the club has done over the past few years and for me to join is really special and I can’t wait to meet the boys and get started.”
Wrexham’s Championship campaign kicks off with a tough trip to Southampton on August 9 at 12:30pm and Coady could make his debut for the Welsh outfit on the south coast. Wrexham’s summer transfer business looks unlikely to finish here, with a month of the window still to come. Audacious links with Ben Davies and Christian Eriksen have surfaced in recent days alongside reports of their interest in Kieffer Moore from Sheffield United.
