- Nick Cushing joins Denver Summit FC

Denver Summit FC, who begin play in the NWSL in 2026, have hired Nick Cushing as their first manager, the club announced Wednesday.
Cushing has previous experience in MLS with New York City FC and in the FA Women’s Super League with مانشستر سيتي. He takes over immediately.
“In order to be successful right away, you need people that have experienced environments like this, have built organizations, and have had success,” said Curt Johnson, Denver Summit FC General Manager. “Nick brings world-class experience, a passion for player development, and a tactical vision that will excite Summit supporters. He’s won major trophies and is the right leader to guide us into our first season and beyond.”
Cushing most recently returned to Man City women as interim head coach for the conclusion of the 2024-25 season after a two-year stint with NYCFC. The Englishman previously led City to six major titles, including the 2016 FA دوري كرة القدم للسيدات title, while being named FA WSL Manager of the Year that same campaign.u0026nbsp;
“Denver Summit FC’s commitment to building a world-class soccer organization really inspired me,” said Cushing. “We have a passionate, committed fanbase and we have to put a team on the field that replicates that. Our team will play an attacking form of the game that excites our stadium and makes things difficult for our opponents. We want to create a winning team as well as a great experience for all of Colorado.”
Summit has also reportedly acquired its first player in forward Ally Watt.u0026nbsp;The Orlando Pride striker is the subject of a transfer to Summit, and a subsequent loan back to Orlando for the remainder of the 2025 season.u0026nbsp;
Summit begins play in 2026 and will continue building out the identity and roster of the club ahead of the inaugural campaign.u0026nbsp;
