“ليفربول are well and truly dialled in. After swatting all their challengers aside with relative ease in the 2024-25 season, Arne Slot’s only gone and made them an even meaner proposition ahead of the new campaign. There’s still time for them to get the Alexander Isak deal over the line, too, but even without Newcastle’s talisman on board, they are ال team to beat. And we’re afraid Bournemouth, who were beaten by both Manchester متحد و وست هام in pre-season, have got absolutely no chance here.”
“This one’s tough to call. The Isak saga is going to rumble on for a while yet and it remains to be seen if Eddie Howe will pick his star man at the start of the season, if he hasn’t already hotfooted to Anfield. Even without the Swede, though, Newcastle will be a tough nut to crack for a Villa side who themselves have multiple in-house transfer sagas to contend with. Draw written all over it.”
“It’s the dawn of a new era at Tottenham. After finally getting their hands on a trophy it’s been all change at the club over the summer. Will Thomas Frank sink or swim? Time will tell but the ex-Brentford boss will no doubt be pleased to have been handed a plum home fixture against a newly-promoted side to kick-off the 2025-26 Premier League campaign. A tonking at the hands of PSG in the UEFA Super Cup a few days earlier wouldn’t help, but it should be a comfortable afternoon for Spurs against Burnley, regardless.”
“Pep Guardiola will hope his troops are raring to go in the 2025-26 campaign after a nightmare of a season last time out, culminating in their embarrassing exit at the Club World Cup. Still, form is temporary and all that and with a handful of decent, proven-in-the-Premier League signings having arrived over the summer, City will be determined to bounce back. Wolves, surely, will be there for the taking in game one, and a well-rested Erling Haaland’s going to fill his boots.”
“Champions of the world. تشيلسي caught everyone by surprise over the summer as they landed in the States, quietly went about their business and then pummeled PSG in the final to take home the Club World Cup trophy and the wads of cash that went with it – even Donald Trump was impressed. As much as they might struggle to replicate that sort of performance consistently over an entire season, they should have enough to see off Palace on the opening weekend. Home win. Just.”
“And so to the blockbuster fixture of Gameweek one. Have مانشستر يونايتد turned a corner, at long last, or will it be more frustration and touchline agitation for Ruben Amorim? Arsenal, for their part, know that it’s now or never to deliver a trophy on Mikel Arteta’s watch, after finally appeasing their fans and bringing in a proven goalscorer in Viktor Gyokeres. It’s going to be pure entertainment at Old Trafford on August 17 and we can’t separate them. Draw.”
