- Newcastle had wretched summer
- Linked with £40m forward
- Al-Nassr join transfer race
According to L’Équipe, Al-Nassr are reportedly eyeing برينتفورد forward Yoane Wissa and are ready to match the الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز side’s valuation for the 28-year-old. توتنهام, Newcastle, and الدوري السعودي للمحترفين فريق مدينة نيوم have been linked with the Bees star, who is unlikely to leave for less than £40m ($53.7m).
Newcastle fans have been rocked by the news that star striker Alexander Isak wants to leave, his potential replacement, Benjamin Sesko, is nearing a مانشستر يونايتد move, and long-term goalkeeper target James Trafford joined مانشستر سيتي instead of them. If they missed out on Wissa as well, they would be much more vulnerable heading into the new season.
Since Brentford signed Wissa from Lorient for around €10m in 2021, the DR Congo international has scored 49 goals in 149 appearances for the west London outfit – 20 of which came last season. Although he only has one year left on his contract, the Bees are demanding a big fee for his services.
It is not yet certain whether or not Wissa, who left Brentford’s البرتغال pre-season camp early as he tried to secure a transfer exit, will still be at the Bees heading into the new season or if Newcastle, or a rival suitor, will secure his signature.
