- Cunha swaps Wolves for Man Utd
- Fires warning to team-mate Dorgu
- Doesn’t want repeat of past incident
متحد‘s Dorgu came up against Cunha when the latter was still playing for Wolves last season, with the الدنمارك defender fouling the Brazilian forward in that meeting. When he signed for the Red Devils, the former أتلتيكو مدريد man warned the wing-back “not to kick him in training”. Now, however, they appear to be on good terms.
He told BBC Sport: “I played against him [Cunha] and he had me once, when I got a yellow card. When he came he was like ‘don’t kick me in training’. He is a really public guy. He talks a lot and he’s really funny – he’s trying to engage with everyone so it’s easier to talk with him because he has a lot of energy. He’s really good at driving with the ball and getting past players. I feel my runs will help him to get more space to play. Obviously, it’s not only on the left side, we need to attack on both, but we do need to connect well.”
United will need to get the very best out of Cunha and Dorgu this season as Ruben Amorim’s team try to banish the demons of the 2024-25 campaign. But after a relatively slow start which has yielded one point from a possible six so far this term, there is work to do.
Dorgu and Cunha will hope United can claim their first win this season when they travel to الدوري الثاني جانب Grimsby Town in the second round of the كأس كاراباو on Wednesday. Then, on Saturday, they host بيرنلي في الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز.
