Son Heung-min has officially left Tottenham to join Los Angeles FC, bringing to an end a memorable decade-long spell in north London.

Spurs have confirmed that Son has departed the club to join LAFC, after a decade in north London in which he became a key player, made 454 appearances for the club and scored 173 goals. He departs having lifted the Europa League trophy as captain in what was his final competitive appearance for the club.

Son has won the Golden Boot at Spurs, as well as the Puskas Award, for his phenomenal solo strike against , and will now extend his career in the States. His final season saw him register 11 goals and 12 assists in all competitions.

In a statement, chairman Levy said: “Sonny is one of the greatest players to ever wear the famous Lilywhite shirt and he has been a joy to watch over the past decade. Not only is he a wonderfully gifted footballer, but he’s also an incredible human being who has touched hearts and inspired people throughout the Club and all over the world.

“The Europa League triumph in Bilbao was a truly magical moment in the Club’s history and Sonny lifting the trophy is a perfect lasting memory from his fantastic decade at Hotspur.

“Sonny has given so much to this Club, both on and off the pitch, and for that we are forever grateful. We wish him all the best for the future, and he will always be welcome back at the Club as a beloved and cherished member of our Spurs family.”

Son will embark on his new adventure in the U.S., while Spurs continue preparations for the season without him. After a decade, a period of adjustment will surely be needed in north London.
