Diaz became Bayern’s third-most expensive signing this week, completing a £65.5 million ($88m) transfer from Liverpool. The 28-year-old explained how he was prepared by ex-Bundesliga star Wirtz before his move to Allianz Arena and also talked about what coach Kompany has planned for his development at the club.
Diaz got the opportunity to spend a few weeks with Wirtz, who joined Liverpool this summer from Bayer Leverkusen. The Germany international was Bayern’s top target heading into the summer, with the player’s father admitting he found it difficult to let down the Bundesliga champions as he opted for a الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز move instead. He said Munich is a beautiful city, and I’ll enjoy it. He wished me the best of luck.”
He added: “I give everything for the team I play for. I can’t say whether I’m worth the transfer fee. I’m fulfilling a dream of playing for one of the biggest clubs. I’m living this dream. I’m happy to be part of the Bayern family.
“I can play up front or as a winger. The coach said he prefers me on the left.”
Fans will be excited for Diaz’s debut and can expect him to feature in Bayern’s pre-season fixture against Lyon on August 2.
