EFL promotion specialist Parkinson has overseen a historic rise up the Football League ladder for the ambitious Welsh outfit. He has helped to turn the dreams of Hollywood co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney into reality.

It has been suggested that he could be moved on at some stage, as Reynolds and McElhenney draft in someone more versed in the demands of top-flight competition, and Gerrard may come into the frame if a prominent managerial post opens up.

“Gerrard’s been out in the Middle East, but I think he’ll want to come back and do what Frank’s done, take a بطولة club with ambition and one that has a real chance of getting promoted.
