مدير عام كرة القدم
- Famed for his fearsome left foot
- Boasts impressive strike rate at 38
- Intends to play on into his 40s
At 38 years of age, the powerful forward is showing no sign of slowing down in his homeland. The former Porto and Zenit frontman is maintaining an impressive strike rate that has seen him net 14 times through 18 appearances this season.
A brace was bagged in his latest appearance, with Hulk doing all he could to try and salvage something for Atletico Mineiro in a dramatic encounter with Club World Cup quarter-finalists Palmeiras.
His efforts ultimately proved to be in vain, as Palmeiras prevailed 3-2 in a five-goal thriller. Hulk did, however, score late in each half to keep the game interesting. He curled his first free-kick into the top corner from 25 yards, before slamming a second into the back of the net from the edge of the box.
Hulk has been back in Brazil since 2021, when he ended a lucrative spell in China, and has stated a desire to extend his career for as long as possible – with the plan being to emulate Portuguese GOAT Cristiano Ronaldo by playing into his 40s.
