- International debut made in 2016
- Struggled for spark at club level
- Hoping to make كأس العالم فريق
مانشستر متحد academy graduate Rashford was almost guaranteed a place in the Three Lions’ ranks not all that long ago, with the jet-heeled forward racing to a half-century of caps on the back of making his senior international debut in 2016.
Struggles at club level have, however, left the 27-year-old frontman sweating on selection when more recent squads have been announced. Gareth Southgate found no place for Rashford at Euro 2024.
A loan spell at أستون فيلا last season did allow a professional spark to be rekindled, before another injury struck, while the summer of 2025 delivered a loan move to برشلونة. Rashford is playing with a smile on his face again alongside Lamine Yamal and Co.
Thomas Tuchel has recalled him to the إنجلترا ranks for 2026 World Cup qualification clashes with Andorra and Serbia. Rashford is putting himself in the frame for minutes with his exploits in training, with one 20-yard rocket being rifled into the top corner.
The Three Lions’ coaching staff will have been impressed by what they saw, with it possible that Rashford will be given a chance to take in appearance No.63 for his country. More outings after that – if high standards can be maintained at Barca – will help to put him in contention for World Cup selection.
