Brian Baumgartner, aka Kevin Malone from the hit show The Office participated in San Diego FC’s pre-match activities at Snapdragon Stadium before the team’s match against LAFC. Baumgartner who starred as the affable Dunder Mifflin accountant from Scranton, Pa., arrived wearing a San Diego FC scarf over his clothes. The crowd erupted in cheers when Malone appeared on screen, cheering as he lifted the ceremonial ball and played with it.

Baumgartner’s appearance represents San Diego FC’s innovative approach to pre-match entertainment during their inaugural MLS season, incorporating popular references to build their brand identity.

Following their 1-0 win over Nashville FC, San Diego FC will face in their first match of the on July 29.
