Rooney recalled the incident from five years ago when finally ended their wait and won the under Jurgen Klopp’s tutelage in 2020. Rooney was managing County at that time. Following the Reds’ triumph, one day when Rooney returned to his family home, he was shocked to see Liverpool flags all around his home, a prank that Coleen pulled on her husband.

On The Wayne Rooney Show podcast, the legend narrated the entire incident, as he said: “When Liverpool won the Premier League a few years ago, I came home, I was at Derby at the time, and Coleen’s got Liverpool flags up outside the house.

“It was our old house, so outside the front door there’s a little balcony thing and the flag was outside the window there, so I told her to go and get it down. She went up and you had to actually climb out the window to get it down, so she went up and I locked her out.”

Rooney, however, did not drag the prank for too long and he soon allowed Coleen back in the house.

Coleen is planning a lavish celebration to mark her husband’s 40th birthday on October 24, where she wants her fellow WAGs Victoria Beckham, Abbey Clancy, Toni Terry and Alex Gerrard to attend.
