- Bassey claims Man Utd goal should have been disallowed
- Accused Yoro of pushing him in the back
- فولهام held Man Utd to a 1-1 draw
متحد took the lead just before the hour mark via Yoro’s deflected header from a Bryan Mbeumo corner. The ball was inadvertently diverted into the net by Muniz as the Fulham striker scored an unfortunate own goal. The home side protested the decision as they felt Yoro pushed Bassey in the back before jumping to win the header.
Bassey was earlier guilty of a foul in the first half, which led to United’s penalty, but Bruno Fernandes blasted the ball above the crossbar. After the game, which ended in a 1-1 draw courtesy of Smith Rowe’s equaliser, the Nigerian defender expressed his belief that Yoro should have been penalised for a foul before United’s eventual opener.
Speaking to reporters after the match, the Fulham star said: “It is enough for me to not be able to win the ball and it is an advantage to him. It should have been disallowed. When the referee looks back at I think they will be disappointed. I cannot say too much, otherwise I will get a fine!
“It is a foul. When you go up to a jump, any little touch can put you off. He wasn’t trying to speak to me – he was trying to speak to my captain. What do you want me to do? Jump on the floor. It is enough for me to not be able to win the ball.”
Ruben Amorim’s United side, who are yet to register a win in the 2025-26 campaign, will next face Grimsby Town in a second-round كأس كاراباو clash away from home on Wednesday.
