- إيبسويتش refuse to sell Broadhead
- ريكسهام plotted ambitious move
- McKenna won’t allow star striker to leave
Wrexham, who are on a spending spree this summer ahead of their journey in the بطولة, were plotting an ambitious move to sign Ipswich forward Nathan Broadhead for a record £7.5 million ($9.9m) transfer fee. However, Tractor Boys boss McKenna has now ruled out the possibility of selling the Welshman.
Broadhead has spent time previously at the Red Dragons in the club’s academy before moving on to إيفرتون and then Ipswich. He made 18 appearances last season in the الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز for the Tractor Boys, scoring twice in a campaign that ultimately ended in relegation back to the Championship.
Speaking to reporters, the Ipswich boss said: “He’s expressed his desire to look at another opportunity that’s been presented to him. But at this moment with the position the club is in, it’s not the right time or even a possible time for us to allow a good player to leave the building.”
Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s side will kick off the 2025-26 campaign on August 9 as they take on ساوثهامبتون in their Championship opener. Ipswich, on the other hand, take on برمنغهام in their opening game, a day before Wrexham’s clash.
