For the first time, the 1958 have called on fans to protest both the Glazers and Sir Jim Ratcliffe. The INEOS chief has overseen ‘s lowest league finish in over 50 years since acquiring a controlling stake in the club, and his cost-cutting measures have made him an unpopular figure with some who support the Red Devils.

Explaining their reasoning for the protests, the group said: “We won’t allow some natural optimism and a couple of shiny new signings to deflect from the bigger off-field picture.u0026nbsp;

“Jim Ratcliffe chose to get into bed with the Glazers and in our is helping keep them in charge.”

“So on 17th August, we protest not just against the Glazers, but now also against Jim Ratcliffe – a man once seen by many, including ourselves, as a possible saviour, a beacon of hope but now revealed as complicit in the ongoing erosion of everything that makes our club what it is.

“This is no longer just about ownership; this is about survival – the survival of our identity, our community, and our values.”

The fan group believe Ratcliffe has chosen the side of the Glazers, rather than the interests of the club’s own supporters, and is the primary reason for the protest. The 1958 have had a negative response to United’s plans to build a new 100,000-seater stadium and move fans out of the Sir Bobby Charlton stand to accommodate more hospitality seats.

The march will begin on Sir Matt Busby Way and proceed towards Old Trafford ahead of the blockbuster opening weekend clash with Arsenal.u0026nbsp;
