Bayern Munich have submitted their first formal bid for Luis Diaz, who has informed Liverpool that he wants to exit Anfield this summer. However, Diaz's current contract runs until 2027 and the Reds have made it clear that they won't sell the Colombian star as they consider him as an integral part of their long-term project under Arne Slot.

According to The Athletic Bayern’s first official bid worth £59 million ($78.8m) for Diaz has been rejected by the English champions. Liverpool value the international at over €100m and have no plans to sell him in the current transfer window.

The 28-year-old had a stellar 2024-25 campaign with the Reds as he scored 13 goals in 36 appearances to help the club win the for the second time. Diaz initially moved to Anfield in January 2022 from for a fee of £37.5m, with the deal potentially rising to £50m with add-ons.

Bayern are also keeping their options open in case the Diaz transfer does not materialise. They had earlier targeted ‘s Leandro Trossard and are now eyeing a move for the Belgian’s team-mate Martinelli.

With the hope that Diaz will stay put for at least another year, Slot is now looking to sign a new No.9 and the club have reportedly prepared a five-man shortlist of targets, which includes Newcastle star Alexander Isak.
