Borussia Dortmund's plans to bolster their midfield this summer are set to bear fruit, with the club closing in on two Premier League players.

It appears are set to succeed in their endeavours to import two talents from the Premier League: Chukwuemeka from Chelsea and Buonanotte from . According to reports from Sky و transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, those responsible around sporting director Sebastian Kehl are preparing an offer for Buonanotte, which they are expected to submit shortly. Additionally, there has also been progress with regards to Chukwuemeka, whom they want to sign on loan.

Chelsea are reportedly keen to offload the 21-year-old and are said to be asking for significantly less than they did at the start of the transfer window. At that time, the figure being bandied about was €35-40 million (£30-34m/$41-46m), but now the Blues are apparently willing to settle for “only” €25m (£22m/$29m). According to Romano, an agreement has already been reached with the player.

So far, apart from the two permanent signings of former loan players Yan Couto and Daniel Svensson, only Jobe Bellingham has been lured to the Ruhr region. Now, a double transfer coup could follow. There are also rumours of a comeback for Jadon Sancho.

Die Schwarzgelben will be hoping to check all boxes with regards to their recruitment plans before their season officially begins. They will play their first game of the 2025-26 season on August 18, when they take on third-tier side Essen in the first round of the DFB-Pokal.
