- BVB also want young defender Anselmino
- Chukwuemeka made 17 appearances for الدوري الألماني side during loan spell
- تشيلسي rejected loan extension
Fabrizio Romano reports that Chelsea wanted a permanent move for Chukwuemeka after Dortmund had initially pushed for an extension to last season’s loan. The Black and Yellow are also pursuing a loan deal for 20-year-old Argentinian Aaron Anselmino.
Chukwuemeka struggled for game time at Stamford Bridge after his move from أستون فيلا at the start of the 2022/23 season. The winger made just 23 league appearances for the Blues in his two full seasons with the club. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Dortmund, making 17 appearances for the club. With Jamie Gittens confirming a switch in the other direction earlier in the summer, he will likely have a chance for sustained first team football in Niko Kovac’s side.
Anselmino signed for Chelsea from بوكا جونيورز in August 2024, for a reported £15.6m transfer fee. The youngster then returned to the ‘Azul y Oro’ for half a season on loan. He made his debut for the Blues earlier this summer, when he appeared as a substitute in the final minutes of Chelsea’s 4-1 win over بنفيكا in the round of 16.
Both players will be hoping to complete their respective التحويلات مع بوروسيا دورتموند‘s first game of the Bundesliga season just two days away. An appearance against St Pauli in the opener seems unlikely; however could both appear in the club’s first home game against Union Berlin on August 31.
