- Juventus want Kolo Muani but talks with PSG are stalling
- Nunez has held discussions with Juve
- Liverpool open to loan with buy option for the Uruguayan
Juventus are in the market for a new striker this summer and have made Kolo Muani their top target but negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain over a potential loan deal with an option to buy have proven difficult. Now, according to Alfredo Pedulla, the الدوري الإيطالي club have opened talks with Nunez’s representatives as they prepare for possible setbacks in the French striker’s pursuit.
The Uruguayan striker joined Liverpool from Benfica in 2022 but hasn’t fully met expectations. Despite occasional flashes of brilliance, he managed only seven goals and seven assists in 47 appearances during the 2024-25 season. With the Reds open to a loan move that includes a buy clause, and Juventus needing to replace a potentially outgoing Dusan Vlahovic, a deal could suit all parties.
The Bianconeri have already been informed about Nunez’s salary expectations and the logistics of a potential deal. While Al-Hilal have also shown interest, Juve remain in close contact with his camp. Though Kolo Muani is still the primary target, the Italian giants are keeping Nunez as a viable “Plan B”. Liverpool are reportedly asking for €60-65 million (£51-55m/$65-70m) in a permanent deal but are willing to sanction a loan with a future purchase option.
Juve will continue pushing for Kolo Muani, hoping to find an agreement with PSG. If the deal falls through, they are prepared to advance talks for Nunez. With Vlahovic’s future still unresolved, Juventus are looking to move swiftly to secure their attacking plans ahead of the new season.
