- Young a free agent this summer
- Still going strong at 40
- Joining Ipswich with medical completed
Young has spent the majority of his career in England‘s top flight, but is finally making a step down – albeit perhaps temporarily – to join relegated Ipswich in the Championship.
The 40-year-old has completed his medical to join Kieran McKenna’s side, who will be hoping to make the leap straight back up to the الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز after failing to extend their long-awaited return past a single season. With the experienced Young as part of the squad, there wil be optimism that the Tractor Boys are well-equipped to compete at the top end of the Championship.
Young has made 485 Premier League appearances for four different clubs across his career. He also took a short break to join Inter Milan, before returning to England a few years later.
An official announcement is expected for Young in the next 24 hours, who is signing on in Suffolk for the next 12 months.
