- Isak seeks Newcastle exit
- Sesko seen as potential replacement
- Face competition from Man Utd
According to the Daily Mail Newcastle are pushing ahead to sign the 22-year-old after being ‘given encouragement’ to sign the striker. The report adds the Slovenia international is Newcastle’s top attacking target, with Eddie Howe’s team keen to move quickly to agree terms with Leipzig over a deal. The Athletic also claim the Magpies have raised their bid to €80 million (£69.6m/$92.5m) after their first offer was rejected by Leipzig.
Newcastle are looking for a potential replacement for Alexander Isak, who is eager to join Liverpool. It appears the Magpies are ready to go all-in on Sesko but face competition from Manchester متحد. The forward is reportedly willing to head to St James’ Park, while the Red Devils are yet to table an offer for his services.
Since swapping Salzburg for Leipzig in 2023, Sesko has scored 39 goals in 87 matches in all competitions. He has also netted 16 times in 41 appearances for his country since making his debut in 2021.
It remains to be seen if Isak, whose contract at St James’ Park runs until 2028, will get his dream move to Liverpool and if Newcastle will be able to fend off United’s interest and sign Slovenian star Sesko this summer.
