- Newcastle step up Sesko pursuit
- Wissa transfer hurdle emerges
- Isak seeks Magpies exit
According to Sky Sports Germany, Newcastle have entered into talks with Sesko’s agent about a move for the RB Leipzig striker but contrary to reports, no verbal agreement has been struck with the 22-year-old. Elsewhere, The I claims that Brentford won’t sell Magpies target Wissa for any price unless they can find a replacement for the forward.
Newcastle have been left rocked by the news that star striker Alexander Isak wants to leave the club this summer. As a result, Sesko and Wissa have been targeted as potential replacements. The former is said to be available for around €80 million (£69.5m) while the latter could be bought for approximately £30m ($40m). Considering Isak has a £150m ($201m) valuation, Newcastle won’t be short of funds if the Swede is sold amid Liverpool links.
Brentford, who have reportedly targeted Celtic‘s Daizen Maeda as a possible Wissa replacement, will not be keen on losing Wissa after selling Bryan Mbeumo to مانشستر يونايتد. Incidentally, the DR Congo international scored 19 goals last season, while Sesko bagged 21 of his own.
It remains to be seen if Newcastle will be able to land either of Sesko or Wissa before the new الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز season starts. Their arrivals are likely to be contingent on an Isak transfer departure, however.
