Asked by بي بي سي سبورت ويلز about the club’s interest in Eriksen, Parkinson spoke honestly about the situation, confirming that Wrexham have held internal talks about pursuing the 33-year-old الدنمارك international, a free agent since his مانشستر يونايتد contract expired in June.
Although Wrexham fans might have been hoping for a big marquee signing like Eriksen, who played 310 Premier League games for توتنهام, برينتفورد ومانشستر متحد between 2013 and 2025, Parkinson noted that interest from the club has not yet “gone further”.
“There was a call, a bit of dialogue over the summer, but it’s not gone any further than that,” Parkinson told BBC Sport Wales. “But obviously he’s a majorly talented player and very well respected throughout football.
“We’ve been linked with so many players and if we’d been speaking to every player we’ve been linked with, I don’t think we’d have had an hour to sleep over the last month. Some are true, some aren’t. But we’re just going about our business and trying to get a squad which can represent the club in this division this season.”
After three successive promotions from the الدوري الوطني through to the بطولة in the shortest time possible, Wrexham co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney will be hoping that the club’s time in the second tier will be just as brief.
