- Napoli sign Hojlund on initial loan
- الدوري الإيطالي club have conditional obligation to buy
- Hojlund surplus to requirements at Man Utd
Hojlund moves to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in a deal which also includes a conditional obligation to buy next summer for €44 million (£38m; $51m), according to The Athletic. The report claims the clause will be activated if Napoli qualify for the Champions League next season.
Denmark international Hojlund was surplus to requirements at متحد after being left out of the squad for their opening four Premier League fixtures. The 22-year-old, who was also linked with آر بي لايبزيغ و نيوكاسل يونايتد, had previously expressed his desire to stay and fight for a place at Old Trafford.
Hojlund’s switch to Napoli will see him reunite with former United team-mate Scott McTominay, who has been a revelation since moving to إيطاليا in the summer of 2024. The اسكتلندا midfielder scored 12 goals in 34 Serie A appearances in 2024-25 as Antonio Conte’s men pipped انتر to the league title.
Hojlund could make his debut when Napoli take on فيورنتينا in the league on September 13, following the conclusion of the international break. Meanwhile United are next in action when they face rivals مانشستر سيتي في ديربي on September 14.
