Manchester United have reportedly come up with a shortlist of five potential successors to replace under-pressure boss Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford. USMNT manager Mauricio Pochettino has emerged as a candidate for the job, along with Crystal Palace's Oliver Glasner, former England coach Gareth Southgate, Fulham's Marco Silva and Andoni Iraola of Bournemouth.

Amorim is already under pressure at after overseeing the club’s worst start to a season in 33 years. The players are said to be losing faith in his system, with captain Bruno Fernandes unhappy at being asked to play a deeper role. After managing just one win from his first four games so far in 2025-26, it’s been reported that Amorim may now have just three league matches to save his job.
