Wrexham have signed Thomason from Bolton Wanderers for a reported £1.2 million ($1.6m) fee. The former Trotters captain has agreed a contract until the end of the 2028/29 season. He will join up with his new teammates later this week following the club’s return from their preseason tour across Oceania.

Thomason brings experience, leadership and a winning mentality to Wrexham’s midfield after making 169 appearances for Bolton. He played a key role in their promotion from and lifted the EFL Trophy. His arrival continues Wrexham and Parkinson’s ambitious summer rebuild as they aim to compete strongly in the .

Speaking to Wrexham’s club media, Thomason said: “I’m buzzing to be here, and I can’t wait to be a part of the journey that the Club has been on. It’s a really exciting time to be a part of the Football Club, and it’s going to be a really exciting season.”

Head coach Parkinson added: “We’re delighted to welcome George to the Club. We’re looking forward to getting him in training with the lads later this week and fully integrating him into the group.”

The former Bolton captain will begin training shortly as Wrexham ramp up preparations for the new campaign. Further signings are expected, with Josh Windass still on the radar of the Red Dragons. The club is building with clear intent as they chase their fourth straight promotion and a shot at the .
