The U.S. women’s وطني team named their final opponent for their October friendlies, announcing Thursday that Emma Hayes’ side will take on New Zealand Oct. 29 in Kansas City.
The game will be held at CPKC Stadium, home to the الدوري الوطني لكرة القدم للسيدات'س كانساس سيتي الحالية. That will mark the first time the USWNT will play at CPKC, the first purpose-built stadium for women’s soccer in the U.S.
Before traveling to Kansas City, the USWNT will play two matches against Portugal. The first will be on Oct. 23 at Subaru Park in Chester, Pennsylvania, and the second will be on Oct. 26 at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Connecticut.
The USWNT are preparing for the 2027 كأس العالم, and these October friendlies mark an opportunity for Hayes to continue fine tuning the pool and roster. Hayes, in just her 10th match in charge, led the Americans to the 2024 Olympic gold medal.
This will be the 22nd all-time meeting between the USWNT and New Zealand. The Kiwis have only beaten the متحد States once – in the first match between the two sides in 1987.
The USWNT will face Portugal on Oct. 23 and and again three days later before meeting New Zealand on Oct. 29 at CPKC Stadium in Kansas CIty.
