According to Sky and Calciomercato Echeverri could leave City after just a few senior appearances, with Roma entering advanced talks for the Argentine midfielder. Echeverri joined City from in January 2024 and spent a year on loan before returning to . After featuring in the FA Cup final and Club , he suffered an injury during the tournament in the States and first-team opportunities may be limited in the coming season. Roma are offering him a clearer path to development and playing time.

The 18-year-old has made only three senior appearances for City so far and faces fierce competition in a stacked squad.
