- ليون agree terms with Tyler Morton
- Liverpool‘s asking price causing problems in transfer
- Morton won the Euros with England U-21 this summer
According to a report by ليكيب الدوري الفرنسي 1 outfit Lyon are currently negotiating Morton’s transfer fee with Liverpool, as the Reds have demanded €9 million for the defensive midfielder whose contract runs until next summer.
Morton, who heavily impressed in the U-21 European Championship with England, is currently enjoying the pre-season tour with Liverpool and featured in the club’s friendly against AC Milan a few days back. The 22-year-old notably has interests from Braga, Ajax, Strasbourg, Ipswich, Brugge and West Ham. However, the recent developments saw Morton agreeing terms with Lyon, but the transfer has stalled as Liverpool have rejected the French club’s bid, which is less than their aforementioned demand.
Liverpool opted to keep Morton at the club last season. He went on to make a Champions League appearance against PSV and featured in four cup games, but did not play in the Premier League.
Morton rose from the Reds’ youth setup and spent the 2023-24 season on loan at Hull City. If Liverpool and Lyon reach a consensus, the U-21 Euro winner will make a move outside England for the first time.
