The summer transfer window has only just begun but Arsenal are moving seriously into the market. Indeed, the Premier League heavyweights are set to begin talks for Eze with Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish, having already established contact with the attacking midfielder’s entourage.
This comes from a report by Mirror who claim Parish will not entertain offers below Eze’s £67.5 million (€79m/$92m) release clause. Head coach Mikel Arteta is keen on overseeing a major overhaul in attack, having already secured a £52m deal for Noni Madueke from Chelsea. Eze enjoyed his best season to date, scoring 14 goals and delivering 11 assists in 43 games while also helping the Eagles win the FA Cup and is sure to add a new dimension to the Gunners’ forward line.
Arsenal aren’t the only side believed to be interested in acquiring Eze’s services. Per reports, Spurs want to sign the English international amid fears of losing out on Bryan Mbeumo. Bayern Munich, who have been searching for a winger, have also been linked with the Palace talisman.
Having finished runners-up in each of the last three Premier League seasons, Arsenal are on a spending spree ahead of the upcoming campaign, with Arteta ambitious about ending the club’s 22-year wait to lift the league title. They have already snapped up Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard and are also optimistic about tying wonderkid Ethan Nwaneri down to a new contract. Sporting CP marksman Viktor Gyokeres could arrive, too.
