- Fabregas teased Messi reunion due to family tie
- Como deny transfer possibility
- Antonela Roccuzzo attended Como’s match with Lille
Messi’s wife, Antonela, attended Como’s pre-season clash with Lille, fueling rumours of a possible switch. Fabregas, who is now Como manager, did not dismiss the idea, citing his close friendship with the Messi family. However, club president Mirwan Suwarso has since dismissed the story and stated that the move is not even a possibility.
Speaking to La Stampa on Saturday evening, Suwarso earlier played on Fabregas’ claims and said: “The Messi family were guests of Fabregas and his wife. It would be a dream for him to come here, but why would he leave behind all the money he is earning now? Besides, we have not had any contact with him.”
However, Suwarso later clarified that the move for Messi was impossible, as he told Sky Italy: “It’s not a dream, it’s impossible.”
Despite the speculation, Messi remains under contract at Inter Miami until the end of 2025. The Herons are reportedly confident he will renew, though no extension has yet been signed. Como, while ambitious and wealthy, appear to have more grounded expectations for their squad building.
Fabregas and Co. will shift their focus back to الدوري الإيطالي preparations following promotion and a solid mid-table finish last season, while Inter Miami hope to tie Messi down with a contract extension soon. For now, any talk of Messi in Como colours remains pure fantasy.
