According to Florian Plettenberg Bayern are prepared to offer Diaz a long-term contract running until 2029 or 2030 as the champions step up their interest in the Liverpool winger amid competition from .

Diaz is understood to be open to leaving Anfield this summer if the right offer materialises and is aware of Bayern’s concrete interest. However, as it stands, there is no agreement in place between the Bavarians and the international, nor have formal negotiations begun between Bayern and Liverpool. Despite previously turning down approaches, Liverpool are still believed to be open to selling Diaz even though the player remains under contract until 2027, but the club remains adamant on offloading him only if they receive bids around €70–80 million (£60-68m/$70-82m).

Earlier on Friday, BILD reported that Die Roten had tabled an opening offer worth €52 million (£45m/$60m) which fell well below the Reds’ reported valuation of £68m. It hasn’t been an easy summer for Vincent Kompany’s side, who lost the race for Florian Wirtz to Liverpool. Their efforts to sign Stuttgart sensation Nick Woltemade also seem to lead to nowhere after their €40m bid for the German was rejected. However, with almost two months to go before the transfer window shuts, Bayern can be hopeful of having a successful summer of signings. In recent days, they have been linked with names such as Eberechi Eze, Xavi Simons and Christopher Nkunku to reinforce their attack.

It remains to be seen where the 28-year-old forward’s future lies in the 2025-26 season and beyond. While there is interest from Bayern, Barcelona are also said to be pushing to sign the left winger, especially in light of their failure to sign Nico Williams from Athletic Club. Per reports, Diaz, like Williams, has asked the Catalans to provide registration guarantees amid rumours that the club still hasn’t returned to the 1:1 financial rule.
