- Inter want Lookman on priority
- Atalanta aim to encash this move for other transfers
- Forward also chased by Napoli and Arsenal
According to a report by Corriere dello Sport Atalanta are in no mood to lower their €50 million (£43m/$58m) demand for Lookman, who has two years left on his contract and is expecting a move to Inter, with the Nerazzuri determined to add him to Christian Chivu’s contingent this summer. Atalanta feel the Nigerian’s sale could be key to their transfer plans and want to capitalise on the interest in him.
To add more firepower to their attack alongside skipper Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram, Chivu wants Lookman on his side. The attacker helped fire the Bergamo club to the Europa League title but had a fallout with coach Gian Piero Gasperini, who has now left to join Roma. Since 2022, the 27-year-old has been a versatile attacking force who possesses the ability to both maraud the flanks and support the No.9 through the middle. Chivu wants to use this versatility to take Inter to greater levels.
Lookman has also been identified as a target for Arsenal, but الدوري الإيطالي champions Napoli have also shown interest as they prepare to spend the money they are expected to receive from Victor Osimhen’s sale to Galatasaray.
Lookman has many suitors, but the Nigerian has to wait for the right offer and see if any club is willing to match Atalanta’s asking price for him.
