- Brandt undergoes wrist surgery after missing ألمانيا duty
- Midfielder faces 10 days out but could return vs Heidenheim
- Dortmund star scored in opener and captained side in last game
Dortmund midfielder Brandt underwent surgery on his wrist last week, according to a report from سبورت 1. The procedure was carried out during the international break after the 29-year-old was omitted from the latest Germany وطني team squad.
The surgery was required to treat a scaphoid fracture in Brandt’s left wrist, an injury he sustained during a Club كأس العالم مباراة ضد فلومينينسي in mid-June. The initial plan to treat the issue conservatively did not yield the desired healing progress, and with the player bothered by an arm splint, the decision was made for him to have an operation.
Brandt has started the season in fine form for Dortmund despite the lingering injury. He came on as a half-time substitute to score in the 3-3 opening day draw against St. Pauli. On matchday two, he played the full 90 minutes and wore the captain’s armband in the 3-0 win over Union Berlin.
Following the procedure, Brandt has been ordered to take a ten-day break from team training to recover. Despite the surgery, it is believed he could be available for a quick return to the pitch. He is considered a possibility for Dortmund’s next الدوري الألماني match, which is at home to 1. FC Heidenheim this Saturday.
