Enzo Fernandez limped off in the second half of Chelsea's Club World Cup final victory over PSG on an otherwise perfect day for Enzo Maresca's side.

Fernandez appeared to be struggling with a hamstring issue around the hour mark and manager Enzo Maresca decided to take no risks, bringing the Argentine off to be replaced by Andrey . The extent of Fernandez’s injury is not yet known.

Chelsea kept a clean sheet and went on to win 3-0 thanks to a Cole Palmer double, but this was a single blotch on an otherwise great day for the club after a top performance against tournament favourites PSG. Fernandez was seen stood up on the sidelines in stoppage time and took to the pitch in delight with his team-mates after the final whistle.

It was an eventful day for Fernandez, who was also involved in a flare-up with Achraf Hakimi in the first half. The Argentine’s match was cut short due to injury but he was still seen in the thick of it when both sets of players clashed again after the final whistle.

Club winners Chelsea will head into the new season with a spring in their step. They will hope to have star midfielder Fernandez available when their league season kicks off against on August 17.
